Oxford, is a cathedral city and non-metropolitan district in Oxfordshire, England, it revolves around its prestigious University of Oxford, which was established in the 12th century and is the oldest university in the English-speaking world. The architecture of its 38 colleges in the city’s medieval centre led poet Matthew Arnold to nickname it the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’. (Wikipedia)

To visit Oxford we did a park and ride, taking the bus into the city centre. I like the idea of no allow vehicles into the city it made it easier to walk about and view thing.

As you walk through the city all the buildings give you the medieval look as mention before, some beautiful designed buildings.

Like the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, Radcliffe Camera and The Sheldonian Theatre.

For there we made our way onto and down Board Street, which seem to be like a market street.

There were a lot of things stales on the street itself, different types of food and trinkets on sale. There was the one stall which was an old English double decker red bus and they were selling pastries.

They were stall selling crepes and actual bar-b-que, which was being made right there on a grill.

Coming off Board Street we made it onto Cornmarket Street, which was another street for consumers to enjoy. There were some pubs and fast-food places like Mc Donalds and Greggs.

Then we mad it down St Aldates passed Tom Tower then turned onto the broad walk into a most beautiful Garden.

We then walked through the garden admiring the buildings and flora and fauna and exited into the courtyard of the Meadow Building.

This building is part of the Christ church, one of the Oxford colleges, known by the students as the Meadow, this massive building was constructed between 1962-66.

You can pay and enter the Christ Church through this building.

As someone who studied using the oxford syllabus, it was a pleasure seeing where our education originated from.

The massive buildings and the stalls on Board Street was the highlight for me in this city.
