London is the capital and largest city of England and the United Kingdom, with a population of 9.1 million people in 2024. It was one of the points we had to pass through multiple time to catch the Euro Star to go to Paris and Amsterdam.

We spent at least two days in transit through London and had the opportunity to explore a bit.  On the first visit we were heading to Paris, we arrive in London from Leicester by Coach and took the metro to King’s Cross.

This was the first time for me riding a train, so I was most excited. The Metro is basically an underground railway system of each city that you can use to navigate the city, each big city in Europe has one.

Stepping out of King’s Cross was so exhilarating, the city was busy, people walking cars and buses and a lot of people cycling among all these tall, amazing buildings.

We then found our hotel and checked in then proceeded to explore. From the hotel we took a metro further south of London, where we crossed The Green Park into Buckingham Palace courtyard.

The Palace is a royal residence and the administrative headquarters of the monarch of the United Kingdom in London, England. Located in the City of Westminster, the palace is often at the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality.

At the palace you can tour the palace or watch the changing of the guards.

Out Journey then took us through St James Park the scenery at the park exceptional. From the park we could see the Eye of London and Big Ben, so of course we would head in that direction.

After trying to get some pictures of Big Ben and the Eye, we then took a ferry on the River Thames straight down to Greenwich.

The ferry took up passed several bridges including the famous London Bridge and Tower Bridge. We also passed The Golden Hinde one of the first English vessel to circumnavigate the globe.

We exited the ferry at Greenwich which is notable for its astronomical and maritime history and for giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude) and Greenwich Mean Time.

On the way to the Prime Meridian we passed through the Queen’s House, walking through the yard and garden, of this beautiful structure.

Unfortunately, there were to many people at the Prime Meridian , we just went to the Millennium Sundial instead, where I could stand on two different time zones at the same time.

Leaving Greenwich, we had to take an above ground train, as there was no other option, which would be the first of many to come. Lond was a lot of new experiences for me and the start of more to come.
