On our first day of vacation, we started with a walk in Bradgate park. We basically walked out the airport, took a two-hour drive to our destination, dropped off out luggage and head out to the park for an evening stroll.

Bradgate Park is a public park in Charnwood Forest, in Leicestershire, England, northwest of Leicester. It covers 850 acres. The park lies between the villages of Newtown Linford, Anstey, Cropston, Woodhouse Eaves and Swithland.

This park is a medieval deer park covering an area of 850 acres and is home to several wildlife including deer’s and ducks.

The park is public so you can enter the gate walk around and enjoy the scenery.

There are multiple ponds, where you can see ducks swimming and sections where you can see deer’s laying in the bushes. You can even go close to them and take pictures, not too close one time, they will get up and move.

The terrain is undulating and because of the expanse and scenery you will come up upon a lot of runners enjoying the trails. If you are lucky, you will also see persons riding horses along some of the paths.

Although the views are undulating it has some nice views, you can see for miles as far as your eyes can see. You will also see several of structural remains on the park for example Old John and the War Memorial Summit

The best part for me on this park was the amazing sunsets. We were able to take some amazing pictures with the sun setting in the background while on to some of the rock formations.

For the first location we visited I was most impress, a nice cool walk, some amazing views and getting to interact with the wildlife was the start of the journey that would take us through the next few weeks.
